Do they honestly think Shakira would have gotten internationally famous (or stayed popular) if her music still sounded like Pies Descalsos or Ojos Asi? Any kind of artist worth their salt knows that if they want to make it (and keep a steady work load), you HAVE to keep changing your style. Of course, the people who QQ over this obviously don't know that.
